REVIEW OUR CONCRETING SERVICES BELOW

Decorar Concrete is a full-service, fully licensed and insured commercial concreter based in Perth, WA. We understand your property is a major investment that needs constant attention and care. From sustainable design and construction to maintenance, our budget-conscious concreting services excel at keeping your housing and commercial properties attractive and maintenance free as they were intended.

EXPOSED AGGREGATE

The most popular decorative concrete is exposed aggregate concrete.

While many types of concrete are mixed with aggregates to add to the durability of the mixture, the distinct beauty seen in exposed aggregate surfaces comes from the specific manner of laying the concrete.

To achieve the unique look of exposed aggregate, we use a high end product to remove the top layer of concrete to reveal the mixed-in aggregate. The kinds of aggregate available to create this type of concrete surface are almost limitless.

  • Where Can It Be Used
  • Alfrescos
  • Driveways
  • Pathways
  • Patios
  • Pool Surrounds (Non Slip)

Our expert team create environments with specific details by laying stones or other materials directly to the top of the concrete before the surface hardens. By using the exposed aggregate method, we assist our customers in creating a one of a kind blend to harmonise with the existing surroundings. The aggregate is mixed in with the concrete batch or set onto the surface for a truly individualised look.

We can help you work through the designing phase and offer you expert suggestions. As such, we’re completely confident you’ll love the finished product.

BENIFETS

Durable: Compared to normal concrete, exposed aggregate lasts longer. It is designed to endure high traffic and heavy vehicles moving down the paths. This is in compliance with AS 3600.

  • Stylish: Enjoy the visual benefits that can enhance the look of your property. No matter which type you choose, washed or honed, you can be sure it will meet your design expectations.

  • Flexible Design: This type of surface is customisable in every aspect of layout, and colour. The possibilities are endless.

  • Cost-Effective-: Sealer does not require yearly applications. Depending on the location and sun exposure, sealer reapplication can vary from three to five years.

  • Weather-resistant: Weather damage has always been the main concern with every type of material. Western Australia is generally hot and dry, but it is not a problem with exposed aggregate. We use a sealer for protection, along with other weather-resistant components.

  • Maintenance-free: It is long-lasting and does not have issues such as pebbles and sand that get between the pavers, tree roots popping out, and other maintenance tasks that take you away from the enjoyment it was intended for.

HONED AGGREGATE

Honed aggregate is technically another type of exposed aggregate. Our team use the same decorative mix in honed and exposed (washed) aggregate.

The only difference is the honed mix has to be at a higher strength to be ground down. Since the materials are the same, you will have the same variety of aggregate mixes that you would with exposed/washed aggregate.

The detail that sets honed aggregate apart from exposed aggregate is the fact that honed aggregate is mechanically ground down, giving the material a much smoother when compared to exposed aggregate. This smooth finish tends to add a modern flair to the areas where it is used and makes your surfaces “ouch-less”, a great feature if you have children running around your home.

Where Can It Be Used?

Alfresco Area's

  • Patio's
  • Pool Surrounds
  • High Traffic Areas
  • Walkways
  • Indoor Area's Such As Kitchens Or Bathrooms
  • Kitchen Counters
  • Carports

POLISHED AGGREGATE

The finish of the polished aggregate has a glossy and lustrous look.

Polished aggregate can be polished to your level of shine (i.e. matte, satin or gloss). The method our installation team uses to finish the surface dictates the shine of the product. Initially it needs to be mechanically ground; the same process as honed aggregate.

Once all the stone is revealed and our team has done the finer honing cuts, it’s time to start polishing. Depending on what level of shine you require, our team will complete between 4-12 polishing passes, before adding the sealer and buffing for the final shine.

The beauty of decorative mixes, whether they are exposed (washed), honed or polished, is that they can be brought back to life. A washed aggregate alfresco or footpath that was poured 10+years ago can look like a totally different slab with a mechanical grind to remove that dirty top layer.

  • Where Can't It Be Used

  • Bathrooms And Kitchens - Because of the high level of gloss it creates a more slippery finish.
  • High Traffic Areas - While the surface is still durable it is still more susceptible to scratching than honed or exposed aggregate.
  • Pet Areas - Area's where your pets use constantly may start to show scratch marks over time.

CONCRETE DRIVEWAYS

Some of our most popular materials for driveways and garages include exposed aggregate, honed aggregate, liquid limestone, and standard grey concrete. While all of these materials are durable and low maintenance, each has its individual properties that set it apart from the others.

What Does Your Driveway Say?

When someone visits your home or business, one of the first things that they notice is your driveway. A shoddy looking entrance can ruin the façade of the most elegant home. Cracks, weeds, and broken pieces of the driveway simply scream neglect.

Fortunately, our expert team at Decorative Concrete can easily bring new life to your tired driveway in many beautiful and affordable ways. Concrete holds up better over time and will not sink into your driveway. This prevents grasses, weeds and insects from taking over.

Perth's Best Concrete Driveway Installers

An expertly crafted driveway adds a bold and modern look to your home. Additionally, it is highly durable (which is particularly important in Perth’s harsh summer climate).

The team at Decorar Concrete WA have been laying quality driveways for 5+ years. For some examples of our previous work, view our past projects here.

POOL EDGING

Having a beautiful, low maintenance pool surround is the dream of many pool owners, and at Decorar Concrete WA, we can turn the dream into reality.

Many people with pools do not realise how much of a difference a solid, quality pool deck, edging, or surround will make in regard to the amount of use and enjoyment their pool will provide. After all, battling with cracks, weeds, and crumbling deck areas takes the fun out of owning a pool.

When we arrive to give you a free design consultation and an estimate, we will examine your pool area, checking for problems or potential hazards. Our designer will spend the majority of their time listening to you; finding out what products and services of Decorative Concrete will best suit your needs, your style, and your budget.

Using decorative concrete around your pool area is a durable, low maintenance, and beautiful way to achieve incredible results at a fraction of the cost for other frequently used, and costlier materials. Our talented concrete artisans can replicate favourite high-end products such as wood, stone, or slate at a fraction of the cost.

Create A Unique Look For Your Pool

Pool edging, also called pool coping, is an important step to give your pool a finished look. At Decorar Concrete WA, we find that poured concrete is a wonderful way to maintain a clean, uninterrupted line blending the deck or surround right to the pool. Matching the kinds of concrete used in the surround and the edging unifies the entire area making a seamless transition.

If you would prefer a unique look, consider using a complementary coloured concrete to make the edging stand out. This look can be achieved with various colours of the same material or by mixing types of decorative concrete, such as having a stamped concrete pool surround and an exposed aggregate edging.

POLISHED CONCRETE

Polished and burnished concrete differs from the various aggregate surfaces in that it is a poured concrete slab with no decorative materials. It is the treatment after the concrete has set that separates a gleaming polished floor from a dull and lifeless concrete surface.

Once the concrete has hardened, our professionals begin grinding its surface layers (this could be compared to an exfoliation procedure.) To do this, we use electric grinding machines outfitted with diamond grinding discs.

Initially, the discs we use have a very coarse grain, but as the six to eight step process continues, the diamond grinding discs gradually become finer.

Eventually, the concrete transforms into a brilliant high-gloss surface.

We Can Also Do A Satin Finish

If you prefer a satin finish instead of a high gloss look, we will work with you to customise your floors. Our skilled technicians can use the polishing process on new or existing concrete; allowing our customers an economical way to dramatically improve the look of floors that are already in place.

Burnished and polished concrete is exceptionally durable, and it is also environmentally friendly. During the polishing process, we use no chemicals or solvents, and the floors require no wax or sealants. Additionally, polishing creates only minimal amounts of waste.

Our customers are consistently impressed with the results of the process, and the concrete retains its beauty over time in both home and industrial settings. Polished concrete and burnished floors are well suited for home, office, hospital, commercial or industrial settings. They are easy to maintain and do not need refinishing.

REGUALAR CONCRETE

Even though Decorar Concrete is our name and our specialty, plain concrete is often the best choice for a customer who wants a strong, clean, and simple surface.

This makes it ideal for commercial applications such as warehouses, showrooms, factories and more. Plus, it can also be used for a range of residential applications, particularly with the popularity of concrete in today’s house designs.

We also offer slab down services for new builds.
